ASME SA179 covers minimum-wall-thickness, seamless cold-drawn low-carbon steel tubes for tubular heat exchangers, condensers, and similar heat transfer apparatus.
Cold Drawing: SA179 tubes are manufactured through a cold-drawing process, which ensures precise dimensions, smooth surfaces, and improved mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment: Optional annealing may be performed to enhance ductility and reduce hardness.
